    Refining Solutions has developed a totally Revolutionary System which is Proactive in its approach to the problem in terms of Plate Gap, Residence Time, Dynamic Plate Wear Compensation, Change of Freeness and Fibre Cutting/Development.
    Enabling Dynamic Plate Wear compensation and allowing disturbances in Freeness to be corrected to a high degree of accuracy.
    Thus making large steps towards the 40% savings aimed for by the Thermopulp User Group!

    Within its control equations, Refining Solutions addresses the following aspects of pulp production:

    • Plate Gap: - Accurate determination

    • Residence Time: - Accurate calculation

    • Dynamic Plate Wear: - Accurate compensation

    • Change of Freeness: - Accurately control

    • Fibre Cutting/Development: - Accurate Correlation

 
    Most, if not all, of these factors - Plate Gap for example - are extremely difficult to measure as individual parameters, but when combined with Plate Flex as an added perturbation, accurate measurement becomes virtually impossible. However, accurate knowledge and control of Plate Gap is imperative for the production of a consistent product.

    Similarly, Residence Time is also extremely difficult to measure but again is a crucial control parameter. The whole situation is further complicated with Change of Freeness, Dynamic Plate Wear and Contra Steam Flows. Additionally, true Freeness can only be measured at least twenty to thirty minutes after exiting the Refiner.
